Spring Pins

This Spring, it's all about making a statement with your pins. The streets of London are awash with ankle grazing, polkadot, brocade, striped, multicoloured or neon legwear. They can be worn with a chunky boot (don't forget the peep of a black sock over the top) or rolled up with sandals when the sun comes out. They could definitely handle the sports-luxe trend too and would look effortlessly East-London if worn with the right pair of kicks (HINT: we've got just the thing coming out later this year). Here's a selection of our favourite Spring Denims, shop them all in store now:

First up: The Sybil Jean, seen here in Molten Lava. Cara Delevingne (not to mention most of the models this LFW) has been spotted in stripey jeans recently so you know you're on to a winner with these - they also come in Opal Grey and Dazzling Blue.

The Ego Cargo pants are somewhere between a jean and a trouser. They're the perfect transitional legwear, working for a lazy Sunday shopping on Brick Lane to worn with stillettos (as above) for late night cocktails on Shoreditch High Street.

Our Guilty Jeans are a go-to style for skinny jean lovers, and each season we update them with key colours. Try them in eye popping Ember Glow or Smart Yellow for a slice of the citrus-bright trend.

We love the Omen trousers, which are a jean/chino hybrid. Low rise and loose, we are going to be wearing this versatile style all summer long. They also come in Molten Lava and you can find the print on the Omen dress too.

The Guilty/Tormented jeans come on oh-so-soft denim in a bold boyfriend cut. They're perfect for Summer and will work with a simple tailored jacket or slouchy top.

Rollacoaster feat. Religion

London Fashion Week is over but we’re coping with the end of the shows by flicking through Rollacoaster mag, which is handed out free in fashion shops, boutiques and parties as soon as the world’s fash-pack lands in LDN. Rollacoaster showcases the best in British fashion and music twice a year. Religion is featured in two of the mag’s fashion spreads, with menswear modeled by our very own Lawson of Religion SS13 fame.

Our Persecution Knit and Nature Jumpsuit we worn together in the shoot ‘Jolt’.

Brights are big news for the season and these two pieces work so well together for a laid back take on the trend.

‘Jolt’ also featured our Spell Maxi Dress on two models – we love the edgy styling of the dress.

Behind the Scenes: Talking SS13 Womenswear Inspiration

The Religion Spring Summer '13 collection has arrived and we like what we see - from unexpected brights and tempting textures to dramatic shapes and graphic prints. We caught up with Jasmijn, the Senior Womenswear Designer at Religion to find out about the inspiration for the collection.

What is a typical day at Religion for you?
I start the day with my emails, then discuss the pieces I am working on with the pattern cutter and the other womenswear designer. And of course my boss! Sometimes we have a fitting, or I do some draping on the stand. Then I’ll spend the day doing research or just put my head down and draw.

What did you use as inspiration for the SS13 collection?
Witchcraft. We were looking at Anglo Saxon religions (keeping it close to home) and witchcraft in general. We took this as inspiration for some of the prints, graphics, colours – even the embellishment and shapes.

What is your favourite piece from SS13?
The Zombie skirt and top (that’s two!)I love the painted sequins. Every piece is hand painted and therefore unique.

The Zombie top and skirt.

Which celebrity would you love to see wearing your designs?
Allison Mosshart from The Kills.

Alison Mosshart: Style icon

What is your style staple?
I am such a lazy dresser and can usually be found in jeans and a tee. This season I’ll be wearing the stripy Sybil jeans and the white Guilty jeans. Plus I can’t wait to start wearing the Harmony Stripe kaftan.

Sybil Jeans in Dazzling Blue, Opal Grey and Molten Lava.

Where is your favourite spot in London and why?
The Barbican Conservatory early in the morning, when it is still quiet. Who doesn’t love an indoor jungle?

What is your guilty pleasure?
Red wine and liquorice; an unexpected but good combination.
