Religion Denim.

Religion Denim is back, and brings you two styles in three washes each. Choose from the super skinny Judas jean in a classic black, a washed black or for something right on trend; the dip dyed jean. For a straighter cut, opt for the Vixen; available in washed black, distressed blue or a raw indigo denim.
With such a choice and such a staple item for your winter wardrobe, you'l find it hard to buy just one pair!

AW11 Trans Collection Inspiration...

Born out of AW main, the transitional collection is full of stripped back pieces, with thought provoking images, a simple and nature inspired colour palette with emotion heavy names.

For women, a trip to Kew Gardens for the designers inspired animal prints of tigers and zebras and autumnal leaves combined with moss greens and dirty cream. Spider webs mixed with crows and paint splatters add to the dark and slightly morbid feel. Tones of witchcraft are seen through the sheer fabrics, asymmetrical and draping shapes, giving a sillhouette that is undefined and ethereal.

Textures and shapes are once again a predominant feature in the collection, with sequins, rouching, foil details and knitwear speckled with silver. Colours are natural; pumice stone pinks, washed out blacks and winter whites. With names like Crazy, Desperate, Pleasure and Tears, it is not for girls who want to blend in.

For the men, it is less angelic and more of a nod towards the archaeic. Images of drunken debauchery and provocative poses of women adorn the t-shirts. Sexual deviance and anarchistic opinions are ever-present with names like Chain Gang, Immortal, Anarchy and Fuck Love.

Colours are stripped back; echoes of stones, pebbles, muddy waters and rust are all washed out and distressed to look worn and imperfect. Materials are inverted, and brushed to give an interest with texture, layering and drapery giving some dimension to the items.

A film by Ruth Hogben

We love this film for Gareth Pugh by Ruth Hogben. It introduces nudity and leather in a style that echoes classic horror films, combining art and fetishism. Look out for similar themes in our latest collection!

Go Gothic!

A few days ago, some pieces from the Religion collection were featured on This Morning in a special Gothic themed programme...

Once reserved for the kids at school with their dyed black hair, and fondness for chipped black nail varnish- irrespective of gender, the Gothic trend is now for everyone. Embracing the unconventional in fashion has now become widely popular, and has been featured from the Catwalks; in shows by designers such as Gareth Pugh and Layers London, to the high street.

Pop into to one of our three shops in London to embrace this ever growing trend, and to add a touch of Goth into your wardrobe.
